Best-seller be curlytm curl enhancer also contains these ingredients to help intensify curls. This product does wonders for styling beautifully-defined, curly hair and helps reduce frizz, too.

Lastly, our nutriplenishTM leave-in conditioner is the perfect product to protect your hair from the drying effects of the sun, and add hydration that lasts up to 72 hours.

Now that you know the right products to use for your curls, you’ll need the right routine to match.

Wash and go

When it’s warmer in the summer months, try giving your diffuser the day off and letting your curls air dry. Renée Gadar, Aveda Global Artistic Director of Texture, shares her expert wash-and-go routine, in four easy steps.

Step 1: Shampoo

Perfectly-defined curls start in the shower. Begin with be curlytm shampoo or be curlytm co-wash. For be curlytm shampoo, massage into hair and rinse. For be curlytm co-wash, apply a generous amount onto wet hair from mid-length to ends, then work toward the roots. Massage into your scalp and make sure you’ve completely covered your curls, then rinse. Repeat if needed.

Step 2: Condition

Next, condition and nourish your curls. Massage be curlytm conditioner into wet hair after shampooing and rinse. Or smooth be curlytm intensive detangling masque evenly through damp hair, and leave on for 5 minutes before rinsing, for additional moisture and intensive detangling.

Step 3: Define

Renée says it’s important to apply styling products in sections, to ensure even distribution and give a more controlled finish. Her pro tip? The tighter the curl, the smaller the section. If you have 3A hair, three large sections will do. If 4C is your hair type, then you’ll want to create 6-8 sections.

Dispense be curlytm curl enhancer into your hand and work through waves, curls or coils one section at a time. Renée recommends raking hair with fingers and tightly pressing your fingers as you move through the hair, in order to create the best definition.

Step 4: Protect

Next, Renée reaches for nutriplenishtm leave-in conditioner. To use it, create sections of your hair, as you did for be curlytm curl enhancer, and apply product the same way. Working one section at a time, spray nutriplenishtm leave-in conditioner on hair. Then rake hair with fingers, and tightly press your fingers as you move through the hair. Allow to air dry and go!
