AN ICONIC

AVEDA AROMA

MAKES A COMEBACK

IT'S SWEET, WILD AND 100% NATURALLY-DERIVED*

If you used Aveda at any point in time, you may remember the heritage aroma of Cherry Almond Bark. It was sweet. It was fruity. There was a lovely hint of almond aroma too. It was addicting, and it spawned legions of imitators. If you’re new to Aveda, don’t worry! You’re going to love this deliciously flirty aroma regardless.

Cherry Almond Bark was a conditioning treatment that was discontinued from the Aveda lineup in the mid-2000s, but it’s recently made its return as Cherry Almond Softening Shampoo and Conditioner. “Bark” may have been removed from the name and the product itself may have changed, but that unforgettable aroma is here to stay.

What makes the Cherry Almond aroma so special? It’s not synthetic, as many others are. (Cherry Almond is often imitated but never duplicated.) It is 100% naturally derived* and was recreated by our master Pure-Fumers using 38 flower and plant essences, which give it that juicy floral complexity that fills up your shower each time you use it.

However, did you know you can’t really use real cherry fruit or almonds to create an aroma? They’re too faint! (That’s another reason many companies rely on synthetic aromas.) Instead, our Pure-Fumers created a 100% naturally-derived* blend of tonka bean, certified organic ylang ylang and orange. Tonka bean helps provide the sweetness, ylang ylang adds a tropical floral edge and orange gives it that fruity, sweet zing. The Pure-Fumers also added benzoin resin, a highly aromatic extract from the Styrax tonkinesis tree from South East Asia, to give Cherry Almond a complex, balsam-vanilla depth.

All of these beautiful elements came together to create the Cherry Almond aroma we know and love — and perhaps had been missing! Haven’t experienced it yet? Don’t worry — Cherry Almond is available at your Aveda salon, store or on Aveda.com, so get yourself acquainted with this summery, sweet aroma today!
